Ranabaali USA Pre Sales Disappointing Compared to VD Previous Films

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali is facing a slow start at the USA box office, with premiere advance bookings falling well behind the actor’s previous release, Kingdom. Despite the buzz surrounding the period action drama, overseas pre sales have not picked up as expected, raising questions about its opening prospects ahead of the October 16 release.

The film’s initial advance booking numbers remain modest compared to Vijay’s previous box office outings. Reports on October 8 put USA premiere pre-sales at approximately $13,125 from 743 tickets across 150 locations. By comparison, Kingdom recorded around $480,000 in final USA premiere pre sales, leaving Ranabaali with considerable ground to cover before its theatrical debut.

Vijay had reportedly expressed confidence that Ranabaali’s advance bookings would improve after the trailer launch. However, the latest available figures suggest that the expected surge has yet to materialise. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film explores Rayalaseema folklore and resistance during the Madras famine of 1876–78, with Rashmika Mandanna and Arnold Vosloo playing key roles.

In a bid to attract more moviegoers, the US distributor has opted to make premiere day passes available, hoping the move will encourage audiences to book tickets and improve theatre occupancy. With the release approaching and Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 arriving in the same festive window, competition for overseas audiences could be intense. Whether Ranabaali gains momentum in its final days remains to be seen.
