Aishwarya Lekshmi Opens Up About Quitting Social Media
South Indian actress Aishwarya Lekshmi has revealed why she has stayed away from Instagram for nearly a year. She said what began as a temporary break became a longer decision after she grew uncomfortable with AI generated content, vulgar edits and the pressure of constantly performing online.
Aishwarya explained that repeatedly reading comments and private messages affected her perception of public opinion. She recalled feeling as though everyone disliked her or was against her. Staying away from social media has since made her feel happier and more comfortable with real life interactions, she said, adding that the platform could become vicious.
The actress acknowledged that her decision could cost her some brand opportunities and professional visibility. Her managers and agents have reportedly encouraged her to return because of the financial benefits associated with social media. However, Aishwarya said the peace she gained was more valuable, while brands willing to work without social media promotions remain welcome.
Aishwarya said she would rather let her films establish her identity than depend on constant online visibility. Her recent work includes Gatta Kusthi 2, while she continues to have projects across languages. She also revealed that staying offline has brought meaningful personal interactions, including handwritten letters from fans, which she values greatly.
