Nandi Awards Ceremonies Planned Across Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Chairman P. Bharat Bhushan and MD K.S. Viswanathan have announced key details about reviving the prestigious Nandi Awards. The Andhra Pradesh Government has approved presenting pending awards from 2012–2024 along with the 2025 awards, ending a long gap in the state’s recognition system.
According to the announced schedule, awards from 2012–2016 will be presented, while the 2017–2024 period will have First Best, Second Best and two Special Jury Awards for each year. The 2025 awards will also be considered. Committees are being formed, with the selection process expected to progress through October and November. Cinematography Minister Kandila Durgesh said that the pending Nandi Awards Presentation has been moved due to the intervention of AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
Bharat Bhushan said pending NTR, television and theatre awards will also be taken forward, with the overall process targeted for completion by the end of 2026. The Nandi Film Awards ceremony is planned in the Amaravati/Vijayawada region, while the Nandi Television Awards ceremony is scheduled for Tirupati. It is to be noted that Nandamuri Balakrishna also played key role in taking the Nandi Awards Presentation forward.
Viswanathan said detailed category wise information and application procedures will be provided through the official platform. The AP FDC website currently carries Nandi Film, TV and Theatre Award sections and online application notifications. The corporation is also working toward a Single Window system for film permissions, expected to be announced within 20–30 days.
