Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Telugu Release Gets Big Relief

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has received good news after a release hurdle affected its Telugu version. The Malayalam romantic comedy, directed by Girish AD, released on August 21 during Onam and has emerged as one of 2026’s biggest Malayalam box office successes.

The film reportedly crossed Rs.230 crore worldwide within two weeks, underlining its strong theatrical appeal. Its Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions arrived in cinemas on September 4. However, the versions initially faced restrictions at PVR, INOX and Cinepolis because of concerns surrounding the film’s OTT window and streaming agreement.

The release issue has now been resolved after the OTT window was extended, allowing the national cinema chains to open bookings for the film. This development is expected to strengthen the Telugu version’s theatrical prospects, particularly as audience interest has been growing following the film’s impressive Malayalam box-office performance.

Directed by Girish AD, known for Premalu, the film features Nivin Pauly, Mamitha Baiju, Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas and Shyam Mohan. Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran produced the movie, while Vishnu Vijay composed the music.
