TOXIC Opens Strong Across All Languages

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has delivered a massive opening at the worldwide box office after releasing on August 26, 2026. According to the trade, the Geetu Mohandas directorial collected around ₹101.10 crore net in India on Day 1, while its worldwide gross has been reported at approximately ₹140.75 crore. The film’s India gross is estimated at around ₹120 crore, with the remaining amount coming from overseas markets. The opening is particularly significant because Toxic is Yash’s first release after KGF: Chapter 2 and has managed to attract audiences across multiple language markets.

The language wise India net figures give a clear picture of Toxic’s pan-India performance. The Hindi version contributed around ₹55 crore, followed by Kannada at ₹23.30 crore, Telugu at ₹16 crore, Tamil at ₹5.50 crore and Malayalam at ₹1.30 crore, taking the combined India net to approximately ₹101.10 crore. The Hindi market has emerged as the biggest contributor, showing how strongly Yash’s popularity has expanded beyond Karnataka following the success of the KGF franchise. The film also recorded strong opening day occupancy, with Kannada leading in several regions and Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions adding substantial numbers.

Interestingly, Toxic has not surpassed KGF: Chapter 2 in worldwide Day 1 gross. KGF: Chapter 2 remains ahead with approximately ₹159 crore worldwide on its opening day, including around ₹134.50 crore India gross and ₹24.50 crore from overseas markets. Its India net stood at ₹116 crore. The 2022 blockbuster also had a powerful multilingual opening, with India net contributions of approximately ₹53.95 crore from Hindi, ₹26.40 crore from Telugu, ₹22.85 crore from Kannada, ₹7.90 crore from Tamil and ₹4.90 crore from Malayalam.

With a worldwide Day 1 gross of about ₹140.75 crore, Toxic currently sits below KGF: Chapter 2 in the all time Indian opening-day worldwide rankings. The latest compiled rankings place KGF 2 around the seventh position at roughly ₹165 crore, while Toxic’s ₹140.75 crore opening puts it outside the current top 10. However, Toxic has already achieved an important milestone by crossing ₹100 crore in India on Day 1, and its strong Hindi, Kannada and Telugu performance gives it considerable scope for growth over the opening weekend. The crucial factor now will be whether positive word of mouth can sustain the momentum after its mixed initial reviews.
