Mohanlal Athimanoharam lands in trouble

Mohanlal's upcoming film Athimanoharam is generating immense interest among movie lovers. Mohanlal is playing the role of the police officer in the film and the makers got the limited permission from the Travancore Devaswom Board .
Mohanlal was seen shooting at Pampa and this comes days after Kerala Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan saying that no permission should be granted for regular film shoots at the temple.
The makers got permission to shoot at Pampa and Nilakkal areas. Beyond Pampa, they were asked to secure permission from the forest department. The Forest Department, however, denied permission for filming beyond Pampa, citing the area's location within the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan said "We can't let movie shoots happen at Sabarimala. Permission can be granted only for movies related to Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala temple and religious films. Normal films cannot be granted permission. Temples cannot be given for shooting. That’s government policy,"
Tharun Moorthy is directing the film for which story is penned by Ratheesh Ravi. Mohanlal is playing the role of SI TS Lovelajan and Meera Jasmine as Naicy, The film is releasing on 24 December 2026.
