C Joseph Vijay And Mohanlal Lead Kerala Operation Toofan

Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay and Malayalam icon Mohanlal will front Kerala’s anti-drug mission Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt. The announcement came after Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala met Vijay in Chennai. The campaign targets cross-border narcotics trafficking across South India.
Mohanlal was named the first Toofan Warrior and will appear with Vijay at a major public event in Kerala. Officials say the partnership aims to spread awareness among youth and strengthen inter-state coordination. The drive combines enforcement, education and community outreach.
Kerala police will lead raids with support from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Karnataka has pledged tighter border security and intelligence sharing. Top officials from southern states and central agencies met in Thiruvananthapuram to align strategies against drug cartels operating near state borders.
The initiative will include school programs, de-addiction centers and digital surveillance. Experts note rising drug seizures at coastal and highway routes. With star power and government backing, Operation Toofan is positioned as one of India’s largest regional crackdowns on narcotics in 2026.
