Adivi Sesh Returns to Action as G2 Filming in Hyderabad

Adivi Sesh is officially back on the sets of G2, the high-stakes sequel to his 2018 spy blockbuster Goodachari. After wrapping outdoor schedules, the team is kicking off a crucial new phase in Hyderabad this July 2026, where Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi will join Sesh for several weeks of filming. A massive set has been constructed in the city to stage high-octane action sequences and a significant dramatic portion. The actor recently teased the schedule on social media, writing “Calm before the storm... before G2 shoot in July,” signaling the intense prep underway.
Announced on his birthday in December 2018, G2 faced pandemic-related delays but has steadily built momentum with shoots already completed in Poland, Hungary, and Chennai. Director Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, making his debut after working as editor on Major, is mounting the sequel on a much larger canvas. The film was shot over 150 days across six countries with 23 constructed sets, targeting a pan-India release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
With a reported budget exceeding 100 crore rupees, producers TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal and AK Entertainments are aiming for a global-scale espionage thriller while keeping the story “deeply personal,” according to Sesh. G2 reunites Sesh as Agent Gopi and brings Emraan Hashmi and Wamiqa Gabbi into the franchise in key roles. Wamiqa, fresh off her turn in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya, plays a fellow spy sharing the screen with Sesh.
Emraan’s inclusion marks a major Hindi-Telugu crossover. The ensemble also features Murali Sharma, Supriya Yarlagadda, and Madhu Shalini. Sesh, who co-wrote the script, says every schedule has shaped the story “with a lot of care,” and the team is working day and night to meet fan expectations set by the original, which was one of Telugu cinema’s highest-grossing spy thrillers.
