Allari Naresh The Actor Of Versatility Turns a Year Stronger

Born as Edara Naresh on June 30, 1982, he earned the prefix ‘Allari’ with his debut Allari (2002) directed by Ravi Babu. Son of legendary director EVV Satyanarayana, Naresh had an easy entry but built his own identity through sheer talent. While Allari won critical praise, his first commercial breakthrough came with father EVV’s Thotti Gang. After early ups and downs, Maa Alludu Very Good, again with EVV, gave him momentum at the box office.
The Golden Run: Cementing the Comedy Crown
Naresh truly arrived as Tollywood’s reliable comedy hero with Kithakithalu (2006), a blockbuster that redefined his market. He followed it with consistent laugh riots like Attili Satti Babu LKG, Seema Sastry, Bommana Brothers Chandana Sisters, Blade Babji, Bendu Apparao RMP, Betting Bangaraju, and Aha Naa Pellanta. In 2012, he delivered Sudigaadu, Telugu cinema’s first full-length spoof film, which became a massive hit and showcased his impeccable comic timing and parody skills.
The Bold Shift: From Grey Shades to Intense Acclaim
Not one to be typecast, Naresh explored darker roles in Visakha Express and earned appreciation despite box office results. The turning point came with Krish’s Gamyam (2008), where his portrayal of Gali Seenu won him the Nandi Special Jury Award and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He balanced comedy with experimental films like Sambho Siva Sambho, Aakasa Ramanna, and Subhapradam, proving his hunger for diverse genres even during his peak comedy phase.
The Reinvention: Serious Actor & Character Artist
After 15+ years of comedy, Naresh pivoted with Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi (2019), winning hearts as Ravi, the loyal friend. His hard-hitting Naandhi (2021) became a critical and commercial success, establishing him as a serious performer. He continued the streak with intense dramas Naandhi and Ugram followed by Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam and Aa Okkati Adakku further cemented his second innings.
Current Projects: Balancing Laughter and Intensity
Naresh is now gearing up for Alcohol, a serious social drama, while simultaneously returning to his comedy roots with Rambha Oorvashi Menaka and other content-driven films in the pipeline. From being the ‘King of Comedy’ to a respected versatile actor, Allari Naresh’s journey reflects risk, reinvention, and relentless passion.
CineJosh and fans across the globe wish Allari Naresh a very Happy Birthday. Here’s to more laughs, more intense roles, and many more milestones ahead.
