Kajal Aggarwal Calls Ramayana A Technical Masterpiece

Kajal Aggarwal who plays Mandodari in the upcoming two-part film Ramayana, has shared her experience working on the project. In a recent interview, she said the film is a technically superior production and something Indian audiences have never seen before. She added that it is the first time actors are working on a project of this scale, and it feels close to every Indian heart.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Kajal said the team used advanced visual effects, motion capture, and large-scale sets to bring the epic story to life in a new way.

Ramayana is being made on a huge budget and is called the costliest Indian film ever made. Reports say both parts together have a landing cost of around 4000 crore rupees, which is about 500 million dollars. The film is produced by Yash and Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations. The makers are planning a global release to reach audiences in many languages. Part 1 is scheduled to release on Diwali 2026, and Part 2 will come on Diwali 2027.

Kajal Aggarwal added that playing Mandodari was a challenging but proud moment for her. She said the role gave her a chance to show strength and dignity on screen. The actress believes Ramayana will make every Indian proud because it tells a story from Indian roots with world-class quality.
