Jagapathi Babu Supports Janhvi Kapoor In Peddi Issue

Actor Jagapathi Babu has come forward to support his Peddi co-star Janhvi Kapoor after the film faced criticism online. The Ram Charan movie released on June 4 and has earned more than 300 crore worldwide. But some viewers said the camera work, dialogues and romantic scenes objectified women. Many social media users started trolling Janhvi Kapoor for her role.
In an interview, Jagapathi Babu asked people not to target the actress personally. He said artists only follow the director’s instructions and sometimes creative choices do not work as expected. He added that trolling can cause mental stress and fans should show empathy instead of spreading hate. Director Buchi Babu Sana also responded to the backlash on social media. He apologized to the audience and said cinema should entertain and inspire, not make anyone feel uncomfortable.
Peddi is set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh and tells the story of a lower-caste villager named Peddi played by Ram Charan. He takes up wrestling to bring respect and identity to his community. Janhvi Kapoor plays a key role in the film and her character has become a talking point.
Despite the controversy, the movie is performing well at the box office with strong collections in both domestic and overseas markets. The film’s emotional story, action scenes and music have attracted family audiences. Trade reports say the movie is holding well even in week days. Janhvi Kapoor has not made any public comment about the issue so far.
