The Tamil action film Blast is doing very well at the box office. The film stars Arjun, Preity Mukundhan, and Abhirami in key roles. Directed by Subash K Raj, Blast made Rs 21.58 crore worldwide in just four days. The movie got a big jump on Sunday. It earned Rs 6 crore net in India on day four, which is about 32 percent more than Saturday. Strong word of mouth and action scenes are bringing more people to theatres attaining Blockbuster status.

In India, Blast has collected Rs 13.95 crore so far. Tamil Nadu is the top state for the film, followed by good numbers from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Overseas viewers are also supporting the movie. The film added Rs 1.5 crore from outside India on Sunday alone. Total overseas collection is now Rs 5.55 crore. Shows are going houseful in many cities. The story of a family fighting a gang is connecting with the audience. The film’s music and fight scenes are getting praise.

Trade reports say June 1, 2026 saw strong numbers for big films. Along with Blast, Suriya’s Karuppu is also doing huge business. Karuppu made Rs 82.30 crore net in India in four days. Its worldwide gross has crossed Rs 140 crore after the first Monday. Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh earned around Rs 60.8 crore net in India in four days. It had a small drop on Sunday, but still had one of the best opening weekends in Telugu films this year. Blast is holding well because of family crowds and repeat viewers.

Blast was made on a medium budget and is already in the safe zone for makers. The film has no big star clash this week, which helps its run. Makers are planning more screens from Friday. With the current speed, Blast may cross Rs 30 crore worldwide in the first week. The film’s success shows that content-based action films still work if the story is strong.
