Drishyam 3 Fetches 48 Crores On Its Opening Day

Drishyam 3 had a huge start at the box office and collected 48.37 crore rupees gross on day one worldwide. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph and released in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. The Malayalam version did the best business. It made 13.7 crore rupees from 3,503 shows with 67 percent occupancy. The Telugu version earned about 1.5 crore rupees. The Kannada version collected 20 lakh rupees and the Tamil version made 45 lakh rupees. The film also did very well outside India. It earned 30 crore rupees from the overseas market on the first day.
The new film has set a record for the biggest opening in the Drishyam series. The first Drishyam movie came out in 2013 and had a slow start. It picked up later with good word of mouth. That film earned around 23 crore rupees in its first weekend and finished with 62 crore rupees lifetime. Drishyam 3 has beaten that number easily in first two days itself. Even though with mixed talk, Fans loved Mohanlal’s strong acting with suspenseful second half. Many theatres added extra shows because of high demand.
Drishyam 3 is now one of the biggest openers for Mohanlal in recent years. But, failed to beat LE: Empuraan on its opening day. In 2025, L2 Empuraan made 80 crore rupees worldwide on day one. The crime thriller Thudarum earned 5.45 crore rupees and the romantic film Hridayapoorvam opened at 3.25 crore rupees. His action film Vrusshabha only made 60 lakh rupees on the first day. So Drishyam 3 stands strong among his latest films. The franchise has a loyal fan base and the third part was in high demand before release.
The Hindi versions of Drishyam starring Ajay Devgn were also big hits. The first Hindi remake in 2015 made around 110 crore rupees. Drishyam 2 Hindi collected nearly 342 crore rupees worldwide. Trade experts are now watching if the new Malayalam film can beat those numbers in the long run. The buzz is positive and family audiences are turning up in large numbers. The Hindi version of Drishyam 3 is planned for an October release. With good reviews and strong advance booking, the film is expected to run well for many weeks.
