Dhurandhar 2 Tops Netflix in 9 Countries

Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 hit Netflix outside India on May 15 and quickly became a global hit. The spy thriller earned over 1.3 billion dollars at the box office and is now doing the same on OTT. In its first weekend from May 15 to 17, the film got 1.8 million views. It entered the Top 10 in 17 countries and took the number 1 spot in 9 countries. It also ranked 5th on Netflix’s global non English films list.
The film stars Ranveer Singh as undercover spy Hamza Ali Mazari. Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt play key roles. Director Aditya Dhar, who made Uri The Surgical Strike, returns with this action sequel. The Netflix cut is called Raw and Undekha and has 3 extra minutes of deleted action scenes not shown in theatres.
This uncut version is now streaming in more than 190 countries. During its theatre run, Dhurandhar 2 sold over 109K tickets on BookMyShow in just one hour of advance booking. Fans in India are waiting for the local OTT release. Dhurandhar 2 will stream on JioHotstar in multiple languages from June 4. Netflix India will release the film on June 19.
This step by step release plan helps the film reach more viewers after its huge theatre run. The sequel builds on the first film’s spy universe and offers bigger action, sharper drama, and a darker story. With strong global numbers and fan demand, Dhurandhar 2 is set to be one of the biggest Indian OTT releases of the year.
