Army felicitates Ishaan Khattar for Pippa. Ishaan Khattar starred in a film titled Pippa. The film was about the valor of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s memoir The Burning Chaffees. The war drama chronicled the journey of Captain Balram Singh Mehta and his siblings during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War on the eastern front, which ultimately led to the creation of Bangladesh.
The film starred Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan in pivotal roles under the direction of Raja Krishna Menon. In the meantime, Ishaan Khatter has been conferred honorary membership of the 45 Cavalry of the Indian Armoured Corps for his portrayal of Captain Balram Singh Mehta in Pippa.
Ishaan Khattar, who was excited, posted , “The honour of a lifetime to be conferred upon an honorary membership of 45 Cavalry of the Indian Armoured Corps - which I may now proudly call my regiment! There is no bigger acknowledgment and I only hope to always be reliably and humbly in service in any which way I can be to the bravest and most honourable members of the Indian army (sic)."

The recognition was awarded for the authenticity and respect with which he portrayed a 45 Cavalry officer and the regiment’s legacy in the film.
