Kamal Haasan Calls For Unity To Save Film Industry From Cost Crisis

Veteran actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan shared a strong message about the money problems facing Indian cinema. He titled it My Appeal to Our Industry. He asked everyone in films to work together and follow good habits. He said the world is facing hard times and the film world must act with care. He warned that costs are going up fast. Fuel, energy, travel, and set work are all getting more costly because of the West Asia issue. The market is still not fully back after the last few years. So budgets are under pressure. Kamal Haasan said workers must be protected first. Wages, safety, food, travel, and stay for daily workers should not be cut. They are the base of every film.
He also spoke about waste in filmmaking. He asked why every love scene needs Paris and every honeymoon needs Switzerland. He said India has many beautiful places and we should use them. Foreign trips cost a lot and add little to the story. He wants less waste, better planning, and fewer delays. Big teams, extra travel, and costly sets with no use must stop. He said saving money on these things will help the whole industry. Many young filmmakers also support local shoots now because they cost less and look real.
Kamal Haasan asked all parts of the film world to meet and talk. Producers, actors, directors, studios, theatres, distributors, OTT teams, and worker unions should join. He said the group must find ways to cut costs without hurting quality. He gave simple ideas like short schedules, less luxury on sets, saving power, and reusing set material. He said these steps can help films stay on budget. Some recent movies have already used these steps and finished work on time with less money.
He ended by saying cinema is more than fun. It is a big part of our culture and it guides many people. If we save money now, we can protect the future of films. His words are getting support from many in the film world. People say his appeal is clear and needed. The film industry is now looking at his ideas to make smart and safe changes.
