Sampath Nandi confirmed that Ganja Shankar has shelved the film

Ganja Shankar shelved: Sampath Nandi confirms. Supreme Hero Sai Dharam Tej and star director Sampathi Nandi with much fan fare announced a pan India project and named it as Ganja Shankar. The film's first look and other promotions excited all. But later reports came that the film was shelved.

Now speaking to scribes, Sampath Nandi officially confirmed that Ganja Shankar was shelved. He said they have received notices from the  Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TANB)  asking them to change the title and the film's story. He said during that time, he felt that instead of changing the title and the entire story it is better to shelve the project altogether.

He added that he penned the story and he is aware of what he was going to tell. He said the film was against Ganja but he felt it will not be right to narrate the story to cops and get their permission and proceed ahead with the project..He said he is also doing a period entertainer with Sharwanand and the project will go to sets from April.
