Rakul Preet Singh on why her wedding was private. Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani tied the knot in February 2024 in a private ceremony held in Goa surrounded by their closest family and friends. Rakul who has historically kept her personal life out of the spotlight recently shared her fondest memories of the wedding with India Today Digital.

When asked about maintaining a low profile and intimate atmosphere for the wedding Rakul explained We always envisioned it as something very basic and simple. We value comfort and did not want over the top luxury. For us moments and laughter are more important than anything else. Remember that feeling of instant joy when you saw Virat and Anushka get married That the kind of vibe we were going for.

Elaborating on why they opted for a smaller celebration Rakul added Our main goal was to genuinely enjoy our wedding. We wanted it to be the best three days of our lives. That why we implemented a no phone policy  not because we were worried about picture leaks but because we wanted to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Of course you also want to be the first to share the official photos. But mostly we just wanted to party and dance and I think I managed to dance in every single outfit I wore including my wedding dress.

Rakul Preet Singh next film Mere Husband Ki Biwi co starring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar is scheduled for release on February 22.
