Pa Ranjith Next Film Vettuvam To Begin Production Soon

Acclaimed director Pa Ranjith is set to commence work on his upcoming film, Vettuvam, after the success of his recent period action drama, Thangalaan, starring Vikram. The project was first announced two years ago, with its first look poster unveiled at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

Reports suggest that actors Dinesh and Arya are in talks to star in Vettuvam, with Ashok Selvan also being considered. Both Dinesh and Arya have previously collaborated with Ranjith, in Attakathi and Sarpetta Parambarai, respectively. Arya is rumored to play the antagonist in the film.

Vettuvam, produced by Golden Ratio and Neelam Studios, explores the story of Cholan, a leader who fights against oppression but seeks protection from law enforcement. The film delves into the final months of Cholan's life in prison. While the makers haven't revealed much, the project is expected to begin production in November.

A release date for Vettuvam is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Ranjith's Thangalaan, a period action drama about tribals employed by British men to find gold in KGF, awaits its OTT release date. Fans eagerly anticipate Vettuvam, given Ranjith's track record of delivering powerful and thought-provoking films.
