The award ceremony will be held on September 28th in Hyderabad, with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The ANR National Award, established to honor film actors who have significantly impacted the craft, was previously awarded intermittently. With Nagarjuna's announcement, the award will now be presented annually, ensuring the continuation of this prestigious recognition.

The close bond between Chiranjeevi and the Akkineni family is well-known. They shared screen space in the film "Mechanic Alludu," forging a strong connection that continues to this day.

Further celebrating ANR's legacy, Nagarjuna announced free screenings of his classic films across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from September 20th to 22nd. Movies like "Devadas," "Bharya Bharthalu," "Doctor Chakravarthy," "Sudigundalu," "Prem Nagar," "Premabhishekam," and "Manam" will be available to audiences at select theaters, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis.

These initiatives underscore the enduring impact of ANR's contribution to Telugu cinema. The ANR National Award and the free screenings serve as a fitting tribute, ensuring that his films and the principles he embodied continue to inspire generations to come.
