The film will delve into the true story of a Japanese man who miraculously survived the devastating atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. Cameron's interest in this story stems from a personal connection, having met the survivor, Tsutomu Yamaguchi, and being deeply moved by his experience.

Known for his groundbreaking work on films like "The Terminator," "Titanic," and the "Avatar" franchise, Cameron is no stranger to impactful stories. "Ghosts of Hiroshima" promises to be a poignant exploration of resilience and the enduring human spirit.

While Cameron is currently immersed in the "Avatar" universe, with "Avatar: The Way of Water" already a box office sensation and "Avatar: Fire and Ash" set for release on December 19, he is clearly drawn to this new project. The director, alongside stars Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, recently unveiled the title of "Avatar: Fire and Ash" at the D23 expo, showcasing concept art of Neytiri (Saldana) amidst flames and riding banshees.

"Ghosts of Hiroshima" represents a departure from the fantastical world of Pandora, allowing Cameron to explore a powerful, real-life story with his trademark cinematic vision.
