NTR and Allu Arjun Aim to Continue "Kalki" Momentum: Telugu Box Office Gears Up for Festive Season

Following the success of Prabhas's "Kalki 2898 AD," which revitalized the Telugu box office and drew large crowds, the focus now shifts to Jr NTR and Allu Arjun, who are set to release their highly anticipated films, "Devara" and "Pushpa: The Rule," respectively.

An exhibitor highlights the positive impact of "Kalki," stating that the film's success, even in smaller towns, has restored confidence in the theatrical experience. "Prabhas turned the tables and worked wonders," he says, referencing the film's ability to attract audiences even after a two-week theater shutdown in Telangana.

With "Devara," NTR is expected to continue this momentum, drawing large crowds in both urban and rural areas. The exhibitor anticipates a record-breaking opening for the film and a sustained run in theaters, aiming for a net collection of over Rs 115 crores.

"NTR is arriving on the big screen after more than five years, and his fans and the general audience are looking forward to his action adventure," he emphasizes.

Allu Arjun's "Pushpa: The Rule" is also poised to generate significant box office revenue, with a target of exceeding Rs 150 crores. The film's predecessor, "Pushpa: The Rise," proved Allu Arjun's appeal to a wide audience, and the sequel is expected to generate even more excitement, particularly in Telugu states.

"Allu Arjun proved that he is a hero of the masses and classes alike," the exhibitor states, highlighting the film's potential to draw massive crowds.

While a few films this year have crossed the Rs 100 crore net collection mark in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, "Kalki" stands out with a remarkable Rs 140 crore net collection. "NTR and Allu Arjun have a target to achieve," the exhibitor adds, expressing hope that these films will surpass "Kalki" and deliver positive results for the Telugu film industry.

The upcoming festive season promises to be a box office bonanza, starting with "Devara" on September 27th and followed by "Pushpa: The Rule" on December 6th. The excitement surrounding these films is palpable, with fans gearing up for celebratory screenings, creating a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of the golden age of cinema.

This wave of anticipation promises a resurgence of the theatrical experience, drawing audiences away from streaming services and reigniting the magic of watching films together on the big screen.
