Makers Announced Sequel To Tumbbad

Actor, Producer Sohum Shah has announced a sequel to his critically acclaimed film "Tumbbad", which was re-released in theaters on Friday. The 2018 atmospheric horror drama, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, received critical acclaim and was produced by Shah under his banner Sohum Shah Films. The sequel, "Tumbbad 2", promises to dig deeper into the theme of greed and take audiences on a more intense journey.

Shah stated that "Tumbbad" has been a special journey and labor of love, and the continued love it receives is overwhelming. He added that with "Tumbbad 2", they want to push the cinematic experience and boundaries even further, exploring the world they've created with bigger twists and a more intense exploration of greed.

The original film explores Vinayak Rao's descent into greed and obsession as he seeks out a mythical treasure guarded by the malevolent entity Hastar in a Maharashtra village. The sequel promises an even more gripping narrative that builds on the dark, mythical universe of "Tumbbad".

The re-release of "Tumbbad" received a positive response from the audience, collecting over Rs 1.50 Crores on its first day, three times higher than its 2018 release. The success of the re-release and the announcement of the sequel have generated excitement among the cult film fans, who can expect an even more thrilling experience with "Tumbbad 2".
