Bollywood National Award actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has sold her Mumbai mansion in the Pali Hill neighborhood for ₹32cr, according to property registration records. The property, which was purchased by Ranaut in 2017 for ₹20cr, has a built-up area of 3,075 square feet and a 565 square foot parking area. The sale comes amid controversy surrounding her upcoming film Emergency, which faces objections from Sikh organizations and is currently under scrutiny by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The buyer, Shweta Bathija, a partner of Kamalini Holdings based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, registered the sale on September 5, with a payment of ₹1.92 crore in stamp duty and ₹30,000 in registration fees. This sale is not the only recent property transaction for Ranaut, who recently acquired an office space in Mumbai's Andheri neighborhood for ₹1.56 crore.

Ranaut's Pali Hill property has been at the center of controversy in the past, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) partially demolishing the ground-plus three-storeyed building in 2020 due to alleged unauthorized construction. The Bombay HC later ruled that BMC had acted with malice and termed the demolition a sinister attempt to silence Ranaut for her political remarks.

Ranaut's upcoming film Emergency is currently facing legal issues, with Sikh organizations objecting to the film and the CBFC scrutinizing its content. The Supreme Court has directed the objecting Sikh organizations to submit their grievances to the CBFC within three days. Despite these challenges, Ranaut remains a prominent figure in Bollywood and politics, with declared assets worth over ₹91 crore.
