Actor Vinayakan Arrested at Hyderabad Airport for Intoxicated Misconduct

Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for his role as an idol smuggler in Rajinikanth's "Jailer," was arrested at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Saturday evening. According to reports, the actor, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, engaged in rude behavior towards airline staff.

Vinayakan was traveling from Kochi to Goa via Hyderabad when he allegedly argued with gate staff and behaved inappropriately. Following the incident, the airline staff handed him over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Subsequently, the RGIA police filed a case against Vinayakan, based on a complaint from the CISF, charging him with bailable offenses related to public misconduct under the influence of alcohol and causing public nuisance.

Vinayakan, however, claimed that he was assaulted by CISF personnel after being escorted to a room at the airport. He maintained his innocence, stating he had done nothing wrong and requested authorities to review CCTV footage for evidence.

This incident marks Vinayakan's second arrest in recent months. In October 2023, he was apprehended by the Ernakulam Town North police for causing a disturbance at the police station following a family dispute. He was subsequently released on bail after a medical examination.

Despite these incidents, Vinayakan is widely acclaimed for his performances in films such as "Trance" (with Fahadh Faasil), "Kammattipaadam" (with Dulquer Salmaan), and "Maryan" (with Dhanush).

The actor's recent arrest highlights the increasing awareness surrounding alcohol-related misconduct in public spaces and raises questions about the accountability of public figures.
