The landslide, which occurred on July 30, resulted in significant loss of life and widespread destruction.

Dhanush's Rs 25 Lakhs contribution to the Kerala CM Relief Fund reflects the strong sense of unity and compassion within the South Indian film industry. Fellow Tamil actors Vijay and Nayanthara, along with director Vignesh Shivan, have also contributed to the cause. Telugu stars like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Rashmika Mandanna, along with Malayalam actors Mammootty and Mohanlal, have demonstrated their solidarity, with Mohanlal even visiting Wayanad to offer direct assistance.

The response to the disaster has been remarkable, with the Indian Army, police, fire departments, and dedicated volunteers working tirelessly to provide aid to those affected. Medical personnel have been deployed to provide support and treatment, and the Indian Army has shown remarkable efficiency by constructing a 190-foot bridge in a record 71 hours to facilitate crucial movement.

Dhanush's recent contribution comes at a time when he is gearing up for a busy schedule. His latest film, "Raayan," which he both starred in and directed, has received mixed reviews. "Raayan" marked his 50th film as an actor and his second directorial venture. He is currently working on "Kubera" alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, directed by Sekhar Kammula. Additionally, Dhanush has "Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam" lined up, a project he is directing, which has been on hold for some time.
