Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's recent call for Tollywood's participation in the proposed Gaddar Awards, meant to replace the discontinued Nandi Awards, has sparked a conversation within the industry. While the Chief Minister expressed disappointment over the lack of response from filmmakers, megastar Chiranjeevi has taken the initiative to bridge the gap between the government and the film industry.

Chiranjeevi, in a strong statement on Twitter, emphasized the importance of the Gaddar Awards, named after the legendary revolutionary singer and artist Gaddar. He urged the Film Chamber and Producers Council to take responsibility for moving the initiative forward, stressing the need for Tollywood's collective effort to ensure the awards' success.

"On behalf of the Telugu industry, the Film Chamber and the Producers Council are requested to take responsibility to take forward this proposal ambitiously," Chiranjeevi stated in his tweet.

He further highlighted the significance of the awards by sharing a video of his speech from a ceremony where he was honored by the Telangana government for his Padma Vibhushan. Chiranjeevi's proactive stance demonstrates his commitment to supporting the awards and recognizes their potential to be a prestigious platform for honoring the talents of the Telugu film industry.

The Chief Minister, in his previous speech, had reiterated the government's readiness to organize the Gaddar Awards on December 9, coinciding with Gaddar Jayanti. He had encouraged the film industry to bring forth a proposal to the government.

Chiranjeevi's response aims to ensure that Tollywood embraces this opportunity to recognize its talent and collaborate with the state government. Despite his busy schedule with the upcoming release of his film "Vishwambhara," Chiranjeevi's commitment to this initiative reflects his role as a leader and advocate for the Telugu film community.
