Operation Raavan (2024): What's Behind

Rakshit Atluri is coming to thrill movie lovers with the film Operation Raavan. The film directed by Venkata Satya is releasing on 26 July 2024. Let us see what Operation Raavan offers to movie lovers.

Operation Raavan (2024) Movie: Story Review

Operation Raavan revolves around how cops and media are on a run by the mysterious serial killer who creates fear by murdering young girls about to get married. Sri Ram (Rakshit Atluri) joins TV24 Channel as an assistant to Aamani (Sangeerthana Vipin), a determined journalist on the verge of exposing a corrupt minister (Raghu).  But Aamani is suddenly reassigned to cover a series of murders plaguing the city. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Aamani finds inspiration in Sri Ram and sets out to unravel the mystery of the serial killer. However,  the police's haste to close the case without proper investigation creates obstacles. A key element emerges as the story unfolds:  the connection between Sujatha (Radhika Sarathkumar),  the mother of a missing girl, and the killer's motives.

Rakshit Atluri's Operation Raavan: Artists Review

Rakshit Atluri delivers a competent performance, showcasing a sedate demeanor and emotional depth. However, his participation in the film's over-the-top and unrealistic stunt sequences detract from his overall performance. Sangeerthana Vipin shines as a driven journalist, making a positive impression with her performance and her on-screen presence.

Radhika Sarathkumar delivers a compelling performance, bringing emotional weight to her role. Supporting actors like Charan Raj, Vinod Sagar, SS. Kanchi, Murthy Devaguptapu, and Rocket Raghava provide adequate performances in their respective roles.

Operation Raavan Telugu Film: Technicians Review

Venkata Sathya's "Operation Raavan" tries to tackle the genre of crime thrillers, but the lack of strength in the script, logical plotting and neglect of suspense and intrigue make the movie which should be very gripping, fall flat. The premise, involving a serial killer, promised an interesting investigation, but failed to live up to expectations.

The biggest flaw of the movie is the placement of some unnecessary scenes in the screenplay. It relies on humorous cops, an unnecessary love story and illogical twists and turns. The first half is wasted on mundane news channel segments and a hypothetical love story, while the second half descends into absurdity with illogical police tactics despite impressive action sequences.

Even though Venkata Sathya shows his ability in direction, he fails to utilize the potential of the genre. Satya G's editing is mediocre, with a noticeable lack of pacing and many unnecessary drags that hinder the flow of the narrative. The dialogues written by Lakshmi Lohit Pujari showed a good impact. Nani Chamidishetti's cinematography is average, Saravana Vasudevan's music fails to make any impact with just a decent background score. The production values are adequate for the film.

The director should have taken more care in approaching the crime thriller. The lack of suspense, logic and authenticity, which are especially desirable for films of this genre, turned out to be a disadvantage for Operation Raavan.

Operation Raavan: Advantages

  • Rakshit Atluri
  • Few Scenes

Operation Raavan: Disadvantages

  • Silly Investigation
  • Lacked strength in the second half

Operation Raavan Telugu Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Operation Raavan failed to deliver the thrill it had hoped for. It arouses interest in the beginning and then lowers the graph with illogical scenes. Despite Rakshit Atluri's efforts and hard work, director Venkata Satya sincerely tried to give a good crime thriller but both of their attempts failed completely as the screenplay was weak. CineJosh is giving the film a rating of 2.25, reflecting the same minor flaw.
