Despite the positive reception of his performance in "Sarfira," the film unfortunately opened to a weak response, marking Akshay Kumar's ninth consecutive box office flop. The film, a remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film "Soorarai Pottru," was directed by Sudha Kongara.
