Honeymoon Express Telugu Movie: Story Review

Honeymoon Express revolves around young couple who get disillusioned with their married life and decide to part ways before embarking on a second honeymoon after taking counseling and where this leads to form rest of their journey. Eeshan (Chaitanya Rao) and Sonali (Hebah Patel) decide to give their marriage a second chance by going on a second honeymoon before finalizing their divorce plans, disillusioned with their relationship.

The story unfolds as this decision leads them on an unexpected journey, intertwining their fate with an older couple, Bala (Tanikella Bharani) and Suhasini (Tripura Sundari), and other intriguing characters including Rahul (Arvind Krishna), Dr. Bhangima Bhaskar (Ali), Dr. Ragini (Surekha Vani), and Dr. Vineesh Sharma (Ravi Varma). How these characters connect and influence Eeshan and Sonali's journey forms the crux of the narrative, promising an engaging exploration of relationships and second chances.

Chaitanya Rao's Honeymoon Express: Artists Review

Chaitanya Rao delivered a commendable performance, looking natural and confident on screen. He effectively portrayed a character who endures criticism from his wife, displaying a range of emotions and delivering his dialogues with skill and appropriate mannerisms. His ability to show variations in different shades of his character was noteworthy.

Hebah Patel was adequate in her role, adding a touch of glamour with her screen presence. She managed to convey her expressions reasonably well. However, she appeared out of shape, and her face seemed to have lost its usual glow, which surprised many viewers.

Tanikella Bharani and Suhasini left an impression with their screen presence, though their scenes often came across as overly silly. Arvind Krishna, Ali, Surekha Vani, and Ravi Varma had limited screen time, leaving little room for their characters to make a significant impact.

Hebah Patel's Honeymoon Express: Technicians Review

Honeymoon Express story readied by Bala Rajasekharuni is all about a young couple's misunderstandings and how their second honeymoon brings changes in their lives. Though the concept had the potential to be exciting and entertaining with a proper script, the abundance of similar films in the past made the director's job even harder. Bala Rajasekharuni attempted to be creative with the events at the resort, but the scenes lacked logic and turned out to be slow, repetitive, and patience-testing. The first half ends on a sedate note with little happening, and the second half follows suit, making the proceedings a yawn fest. The pre-climax and climax are utterly predictable, offering nothing new.

The story is predictable, and the screenplay lacks confidence. The direction is below average, as the director should have focused more on refining the script and story before proceeding.

Umashankar Gummadidala's editing is poor, testing the viewers' patience and leaving them wondering where the story is headed. Many scenes are silly and drag down the narration. Kalyani Malik's music and songs are outdated and fail to make an impact. RP Patnaik's background score is uninspired and doesn't elevate the scenes. VM Sistla's cinematography is ordinary, and the production values are just okay.

Honeymoon Express: Advantages

  • Chaitanya Rao
  • Couple of Scenes

Honeymoon Express: Disadvantages

  • Tried and Tested Story
  • Lack of Novelty

Honeymoon Express Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Honeymoon Express turns out to be monotonous to the core. Director Bala Rajasekharuni aimed to create a comedy filled with the humorous quarrels and misunderstandings of a young couple, enriched with romantic elements. However, despite Chaitanya Rao's dedicated performance, the film fell short of delivering engaging and exciting scenes. Taking these aspects into account, Cinejosh rates Honeymoon Express a 1 out of 5.
