With Pushpa 2 Moved Away Several Films Planning To Arrive On 15th August

Until last week, Allu Arjun's much awaited, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' has been locked its release date as 15th August. But, due to unforeseeable conditions, it is now moved to 6th December leaving the Independence day weekend empty. Now, the race begins for to cash on in that four day weekend advantage. 'Thangalaan' to 'Lucky Bhaskar': South films that are likely to release for Independence Day as 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' postponed.

The most anticipated film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' was set for its release in theatres on August 15. The movie is now postponed to December 6, as the makers have planned to re-work on the VFX and reshoot certain parts of the film for better visualisation. The film has now dropped out of the Independence day race which has paved way for multiple other films to be released in theatres on August 15. Several Tamil and Telugu films are eyeing for their release on August 15 after 'Pushpa 2' got delayed.

Ram starrer Double iSmart, Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film is a science fiction and it is the sequel to the 2016 release 'ISmart Shankar' and the film is now set for its release in theatres on August 15. Starring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, the film makers made the official announcement of the release date stating that it will hit the big screens in August.

Sivakarthikeyan starrer Amaran, Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. Produced by Kamal Haasan, the film is the biography of Major Vardharajan who lost his life in the Shopian Encounter in Kashmir 2024. The music for the film is composed by GV Prakash. The film was initially set for its release in theatres om August 15 as it was about patriotism, but for certain reasons it got delayed and was pushed to September. But now, the makers are again eyeing a release in August as it is almost done with post-production.

Lucky Baskhar Starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, the film is a heist thriller . Directed by Venky Atluri, the film is set in the time period of 1980s and it gives the background of a bank employee who turns out to be super rich which creates the confusion and doubts against him. The film has Meenakshi Chaudhary playing the female lead. The movie was initially set for its release in July, but with the window open now for August 15, the makers are now planning to release the film for Independence Day.

Thangalaan, Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film is a period action drama starring Vikram, Pasupathy, Parvathi Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles. The movie's teaser was launched in December and it was first set for its release on January 26. Later, it was postponed due to the delay in post-production and the makers had finalised to release the film after the election results. Now, with 'Pushpa 2' out of the race, the film might high likely be released for the Independence day holiday.
