Raveena sues man for defamatory video. Raveena Tandon has taken legal action against a man named Mohsin Shaikh for spreading false and defamatory allegations about her involvement in a recent road rage incident.
The actress' legal team sent a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Shaikh for posting a video on X (formerly Twitter) claiming that Tandon was intoxicated during the incident.
Sana Raees Khan, Tandon's lawyer, stated, "Recently, an attempt was made to embroil Raveena in a false and frivolous complaint, which was clarified in CCTV footage, and no complaint was filed. However, Mohsin Shaikh, claiming to be a journalist, is disseminating false information on X regarding the said incident, which is factually incorrect and misleading."
Khan further asserted that the dissemination of false information seems to be a deliberate attempt to damage Tandon's reputation for personal gain. "The intent behind continuously spreading these falsehoods seems to be rooted in extortion and a desire to gain cheap publicity at the expense of Raveena’s dignity," she said.
The legal team is pursuing all necessary measures to address the situation and ensure justice is served against Shaikh for perpetuating this defamatory campaign.
The incident initially gained traction after a video surfaced online showing a woman alleging that Tandon's car hit her and that the actress and her driver assaulted her. However, a subsequent CCTV clip debunked these claims, revealing that the woman was not hit by Tandon's vehicle.
This legal action underscores the seriousness of false accusations and the need for responsible reporting on social media. Raveena Tandon's firm stance against these defamatory claims demonstrates her commitment to protecting her reputation and upholding the truth.
