Prabhas Kalki 2898 AD Recovered Half Of Its Budget With OTT Deals Itself

Prabhas's 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been the much awaited film since last year. The main reason is it is a Prabhas film which is being mounted on a massive scale with a humongous budget of Rs 600+ crores, the costliest film ever on Indian Screen. That's not that, it is helmed by talented Nag Ashwin who has delivered a masterpiece, 'Mahanati' which won many National Awards. He has been working on Kalki 2898 AD for the last 5-6 years. 

The team has started promotional activities as release date has been locked as June 27 worldwide in multiple languages.  As this year didn't yet witnesses a big star hero's film release, except for 'Guntur Kaaram' headlined by Mahesh. Due to IPL and Elections, summer too did t have many release and Kalki is the next biggest release we are going to witness in theatres on June 27. 

Kalki 2898 AD OTT Deals With Prime & Netflix 

On the other hand, speculations are rife that the pan-Indian project’s digital rights for all southern languages (Telugu, Tamil, etc.) were secured by Amazon Prime Video for a staggering Rs. 200 crore. This colossal deal reflects the immense anticipation surrounding the film. Another leading OTT giant Netflix,  is said to have stepped up and acquired the digital rights for the Hindi version of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ at an astonishing price of Rs. 175 crores. These deals itself covered more than half of the budget of the film.

The director Nag Ashwin, along with cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic and music composer Santhosh Narayanan, promises a visual spectacle that is going to be extravagant..Apart from Prabhas, the movie boasts a star-studded cast including renowned actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in significant roles, promising an extraordinary cinematic experience. The movie is currently undergoing post-production work, including VFX, background score, and other technical aspects.
