Teaser Of Rajinikanth, Lokesh Kanagaraj Thalaivar 171 On April 22

Superstar Rajinikanth's next, Sun Pictures production, Thalaivar 171 (tentative title) is  Rajinikanth's next after Vettaiyan, and the movie marks the Superstar's first time collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Lokesh has now revealed that Thalaivar 171 will begin in June, 2024, and that Sun Pictures will be unveiling an 'interesting teaser' to mark the commencement of the movie. 

Sun Pictures on its social media handles revealed the same with an arresting poster of Rajinikanth chained with watches. There is a huge watch in the background of the poster too which hints about 'Time' as key elements in the film. The announcement was made, " The much awaited #Thalaivar171 update is here! Title revealing teaser from April 22nd "

As per Tamil circles, the pre-production work is on. The film (Thalaivar 171) will go on floors in June. The entire process will take around one and a half years. One month after the completion of Thalaivar 171, Lokesh will begin Kaithi 2 with Karthi.

Thalaivar 171 has Anirudh Ravichander for music. While the cast and crew of Thalaivar 171 awaits official announcement, Lokesh has clarified that the movie will be a standalone outing, and will have no connection to his Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe (LCU) which encompasses movies like Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022), Leo (2023) and the upcoming Kaithi 2.
