Kangana Ranaut to contest elections on BJP ticket

BJP fields Kangana Ranaut in LS elections. Actress Kangana Ranaut is set to contest the Lok Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency on the BJP’s ticket. 

The party recently released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, nominating Kangana, a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from her birthplace. Kangana was born in Bhambla near Manali, which falls in the Mandi district.

Expressing her excitement and gratitude, Kangana took to the microblogging site X to announce her official joining of the party. She stated, “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party (BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birthplace Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks."

Last year, Kangana Ranaut had hinted at entering politics, saying that if Lord Krishna blesses her, she would contest the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
