Ajay Devgn, Madhavan, Jyotika Shaitan Hits Century

Bollywood has a new box office champion, Shaitan, the chilling supernatural thriller starring the powerhouse duo of Ajay Devgan and R Madhavan, has become a runaway success. In a mere five days, the film has managed to rake in over Rs 100 crore worldwide. That's right, over Rs 100 crore in just a week! 

This impressive feat secures Shaitan's place as one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of 2024 so far. Even more impressive, the film has earned over Rs 74 crore within India alone, showcasing its strong grip on the domestic audience. The film collects Rs 27+ Crores from International market. Taking its total to Rs 100+ Crores worldwide.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan was released in theaters worldwide on March 8. The horror thriller kick-started its box office run with an impressive debut, raking in Rs 17.75 crore on opening day. With positive word-of-mouth, the collections continued to rise, and the film made Rs 18.75 crore on the second day and Rs 20.5 crore on the third day. 

Shaitaan also stars Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj in pivotal roles.  It is a remake of the 2013 Gujarati movie Vash. While the film is doing well at the box office, it will face competition from Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani’s movie Yodha, which will hit theatres starting March 15.
