Among the last Friday releases, Hollywood film Dune 2 is leading the pack. The film which targeted multiplexes and metro cities surprisingly find patronage in towns and A centers also. Dune only released in English language with subtitles has been received terrific responses and opened to excellent reviews with limited premiers on Thursday, February 29 at Indian Boxoffice.
Dune Part Two is gaining momentum at the Indian box office. The film netted Rs 3.66 crore on Saturday, after an opening day haul of Rs 2.75 crore in India. But, on its third day which happens to be a Sunday, has crossed Rs 5 Crores. The three-day collection of the film, which had limited paid previews on Thursday, now stands at Rs 12+ Crores all India nett.
The Saturday and numbers of the film, which saw a great jump from its opening day, indicate the film has found an acceptance with its target audience. Dune 2 headlined by Timothee Chalametand Zendaya, Directed by Denis Villeneuve, is a sequel to the 2021 Dune, and is the second installment of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. Dune Part Two has emerged as the first major blockbuster of the year.
The film had an opening day of $32.2 million in the US, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is looking to earn $75 million in North America in its opening weekend. This would be “almost double the first film”, whose opening stood at $41 million in the three days. The film is currently standing at $ 180 Million globally in its first three days.
