After delivering all time Kannada Industry Hit, 'OM' with Shiva Raj Kumar, Upendra started 'A' starring himself in his own directorial.

The film which was released in Kannada initially in 1998 turned out to be an Industry Hit with 'A' ran 100 days in maximum number of theatres in Bengaluru alone. That was a massive record back then. The film which was made with a budget less than Rs 2 Crores has grossed a whopping Rs 20 Crores, 25 years ago.

'A' Re-Release After 25 Years

'A' was a pathbreaking film and infact it was made with reverse screenplay, the first ever in Indian cinema. It's bold content shocked everyone during those times. Upendra made the film as a love story between a Dircetor and heroine in film industry. He touched the sensational concepts like casting couch during those days itself unabashedly.

The film was dubbed and released in Telugu the same year and opened to thunderous response in Tollywood too. 'A' even brought fan base to Upendra in Telugu states. Now, after 25 years, plans are on to release the film once again in theatres. The release date is yet to be finalised. Watch out for sensational posters of 'A' which created quite a stirr when they got released 25 years ago.
