This year's first biggest hit, Hanuman, a mythological angle superhero flick has sprung many surprises. The film which was released as an underdog on 12th January has enjoyed a glorious run and completed 50 days in 150 screens on March 1. This Prasanth Varma directorial headlined by Teja Sajja marks the beginning of much bigger franchise, 'Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe' with already announced sequel titled 'Jai Hanuman'.
The film stood as the biggest Sankranthi hit in Telugu cinema. Director Prasanth Varma paved a new way of technical standard filmmaking with a low budget. Hanuman was just made on a budget of 40 crores, but it bagged 330 crores in gross at the box office, setting many records in multiple languages. Hanuman is the second-highest grossing film this year at the Indian box office and the first-highest grosser at the Telugu box office.
The grand 50 days celebrations were held today and entire team graced the even sharing their happiness and gratitude for the success. A replica of lord Hanuman was presented to the team members and guests at the event. Hanuman has also become the only film in recent times which has a genuine 50 Days run at the box-office.
Hanuman defined a new style of visual spectacle with minimal resources. The film entertained the audience completely in theaters, despite the language and age. Hanuman is now set to stream on the OTT platform. Zee5 acquired the rights for the film and it will stream on Friday, March 8 on the eve of Maha Shivaratri.
