Rajini would not have done Lal Salaam.During the audio launch of the upcoming sports drama 'Lal Salaam', Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth addressed a poignant moment regarding her father, Rajinikanth, on January 26 in Chennai. Expressing gratitude to her team and acknowledging the support received, Aishwarya delved into the recent social media attacks labeling her father as a 'Sanghi,' a term associated with a certain political ideology.

Despite generally staying away from social media, Aishwarya conveyed her concern over the personal attacks her father had endured. She emphasized the humanity behind the public figures and clarified, "I'd like to make it clear here, Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi. If he was, he wouldn't have done a film like 'Lal Salaam'."

This declaration moved Rajinikanth to tears, and his fans erupted with enthusiasm in response to Aishwarya's heartfelt words. Aishwarya also shared the challenges faced in securing funding for the project initially, expressing gratitude to those who eventually supported it. She revealed that when her father heard the script, he voluntarily expressed interest in playing Moideen Bhai's role, a proposition she initially hesitated about, considering her responsibility to protect his legacy.

"I never thought about him for the role until he himself suggested," she admitted, highlighting the collaborative and supportive nature of their work. Aishwarya further extended her appreciation to the people of Senji, Thiruvannamalai, and Pondicherry for their hospitality and care towards Rajinikanth during the film's shooting.

'Lal Salaam,' a film dealing with a sensitive subject, features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles, with Rajinikanth making an extended cameo. Aishwarya, acknowledging the humanity required to tackle such themes, expressed her gratitude to her father for his involvement in the project. The sports drama, produced by Lyca Productions, is set to hit theaters on February 9.
