Nayanthara to shun Lady Super Star tag. Dusky actress Nayanthara has expressed her preference to shed the title of 'Lady Superstar,' citing a disparity in public opinions, with more criticism than appreciation. In a video statement, she requested the media to refrain from using the title and simply address her as Nayanthara.

With an impressive filmography of over 75 films spanning two decades, including a successful foray into Bollywood, Nayanthara reflected on her contentment without the burden of tags or titles, asserting that her satisfaction lies beyond such distinctions.

Despite Nayanthara's reluctance towards titles, she recently secured top billing with a remarkable Rs 6 crore remuneration for the film 'Jawan,' making her the highest-paid actress in South India. Surpassing industry peers like Anushka Shetty, Pooja Hegde, Kajal Aggarwal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Shruti Haasan, who earn between Rs 2.5 to 3 crores, Nayanthara has unquestionably asserted herself as the undisputed leading actress. A prominent producer commended her, stating, "Nayanthara deserves the superstar tag; she never compromised on her remuneration and consistently delivered outstanding performances, keeping her stock soaring high."

Nayanthara's financial standing reached Rs 4 crore in Tollywood, especially while collaborating with Telugu stalwarts like Chiranjeevi in 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' and Balakrishna in 'Simha' to 'Jai Simha.' While she maintained her stance on equitable pay for her contributions to regular glamorous roles, Nayanthara exhibited flexibility by revising her remuneration for female-centric films, showcasing her commitment to diverse and impactful storytelling.
