Mansoor Ali Khan files defamation case against Chiranjeevi. Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has recently taken legal action against Trisha Krishnan, BJP leader and NCW member Khushbu Sundar, and Mega Star Chiranjeevi, alleging defamatory remarks on a social media platform. Khan seeks Rs 1 crore in damages from each, asserting in his application that these individuals made damaging statements without verifying the facts. He clarified that his comments discussed the decline of negative character portrayals in films and were not directed personally at anyone.
The application states, "I submit that I have not uttered any wrong statement against any persons personally, but merely commented on the negative shades I had played, which has off-late become a vanishing trend, and no personal comments had ever been made about the defendant or any other woman in particular."
This legal dispute originated from Khan's previous controversial remarks about his Leo co-star, Trisha, for which he later apologized. Trisha strongly responded, labeling the comments as sexist and disrespectful, announcing her decision to avoid working with him in the future. Khushbu and Chiranjeevi were among prominent personalities who supported Trisha.
After a complaint by the National Commission for Women, the police became involved, leading to Khan expressing regret and seeking forgiveness from Trisha during the investigation. Initially hesitant to apologize, Khan claimed his statement was misconstrued.
On November 19, 2023, the South Indian Artistes' Association condemned Khan's remarks against Trisha Krishnan, demanding a public apology. They criticized his words not only for their impact on Trisha but also for affecting Khushbu and Roja.
