Tollywood stars game for dad roles on screen. With the prominent actor Naga Chaitanya taking on the role of a young father in the latest web series 'Dhootha,' it is evident that the new generation of heroes in Tollywood is embracing variety in their roles. This trend was initiated by star Nani in the critically acclaimed film 'Jersey,' where the audience resonated with the touching father-son bonding depicted on screen. Nani is set to continue this trend with his upcoming project 'Hi Nanna,' exploring the intricate dynamics of a father-daughter relationship.

Director Hemanth Madhukar notes that young actors like Nani and Chaitanya are indeed changing the game in the industry, bringing a fresh and realistic approach to storytelling. He emphasizes that contemporary films are increasingly reflecting the realities of life, where young individuals are embracing parenthood early on. This shift, he believes, allows these actors to connect with audiences on a more relatable level.

Highlighting the trend further, Allari Naresh, another young hero, portrayed a devoted father in his recent release, 'Ugram.' Hemanth suggests that depicting various relationships, including parenting, adds layers to a character, making it more challenging and engaging for the actor and the audience alike.

The director also draws parallels with stars from other film industries, citing examples such as Bollywood's Shah Rukh Khan, who played a father in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' at a relatively young age. Similarly, Nagarjuna in 'Santhosham,' Kamal Haasan in 'Mahanadi,' and the upcoming portrayal of a father by Venkatesh in 'Saindhav' showcase the versatility and willingness of actors to explore diverse roles.

Hemanth argues that Tollywood heroes need to move beyond the stereotypical lover boy or college-going guy roles, which often limit the narrative to a predictable love story. To add depth and dimension to their characters, heroes should introduce new relationships in their films, showcasing their versatility and breaking away from clichés.

In essence, the evolving portrayal of parenting roles by young heroes in Tollywood reflects a broader shift toward more realistic and multifaceted storytelling, ultimately enhancing the cinematic experience for audiences.
