Ram Skanda proves its mass appeal on OTT

'Skanda' was released in theatres on September 28th. Director Boyapati Sreenu has proved that his kind of cinema enjoys mass appeal not just in B and C centres but it extends to OTT as well. 

The Dasara release has been trending sensationally on Disney Plus Hotstar since its release on the streaming platform recently. The viewing minutes have been added in millions by the day. Since the platform doesn't usually release data, the precise numbers are not known. But all indicators say that 'Skanda' is a digital blockbuster of sorts. 

Ram Pothineni's performance, Boyapati's execution abilities, and the sheer larger-than-life tone of 'Skanda' has come in for remarkable praise. Sree Leela, the antagonists, the emotions and the songs have done their thing. 

The high-octane action drama has also reaffirmed the durability of the genre Boyapati is known for. No matter how much nitpicking is done by a small segment, mass content is irresistible. It is Telugu cinema's cornerstone and Boyapati understands this with practiced ease.
