Lokesh Kanagaraj About Rajinikanth Character In Thalaivar 171

Lokesh Kanagaraj became sensational director with Kaithi and Vikram. The way he linked Kaithi to Vikram with his brilliant screenplay created his own cinematic universe, LCU. He made his latest film Leo starring Vijay also as a part of LCU. The film was surrounded with unprecedented hype. The massive buzz resulted in record openings and collections for Leo despite of mixed reviews.

Lokesh's next is Thalaivar 171 starring Superstar Rajinikanth. The shoot is expected to start from April next year. The official announcement was made recently by the production house Sun Pictures which has delivered an all-time blockbuster Jailer with Rajinikanth. Lokesh is currently busy with the film's pre-production work.

Lokesh's Shocking Decision 

Leo has received flak in social media for its second half. Many tagged Lokesh Kanagaraj for poorly handling the flash back portion and his screenplay ideas to link Leo to LCU also seems forced. As such comments got increased, Lokesh decided to quit social media till next year to concentrate on Thalaivar 171. His next with Rajinikanth is not part of LCU and is a stand alone film.

Everyone is familiar with Rajinikanth's villainous roles during early stage of his career. Even in Enthiran and 2.0 he played a role with negative shades which stand as highlight of those films. Now, Lokesh once again showcasing him in a negative shades character. He said he like Rajinikanth villainy and he will explore more in his film. Currently Rajinikanth is doing Thalaivar 170 in TG Gnanavel's direction which has stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Raana Daggubati and Manju Warrier.
