Kangana the first woman to burn Ravan effigy. Kangana Ranaut is all set to perform the symbolic act of Ravan Dahan during the celebrated Lav Kush Ramleela event in the national capital on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra this Tuesday.

In its remarkable 50-year history, the annual event, hosted at the iconic Red Fort, will witness a historic first. Kangana will become the first woman to ignite the effigy of the demon king, Ravan, by shooting an arrow. This unique decision was made by the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee of Delhi, as confirmed by Arjun Singh, the committee's president.

Mr. Singh shared that this choice was made as a tribute to the recently passed Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament. He elaborated, 'Whether it's a film star or a politician, every year we have a distinguished guest grace our event. Past attendees have included former President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Film stars like Ajay Devgn and John Abraham have also graced our event. Last year, Prabhas performed the Ravan Dahan. For the first time in our event's 50-year history, a woman will be taking on this role.'

He further explained the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee's stance, emphasizing their commitment to advocating for equal rights for women. He highlighted the increasing participation of women in various fields, yet acknowledged that there's still a long journey ahead. Mr. Singh believes that the Women's Reservation Bill is a significant step toward the development of both the country and society and encourages a more equitable society.

Mr. Singh expressed, 'Now, a woman can also symbolically vanquish the evil represented by Ravan. Women should have the right to perform this ritual as well. That's why we have chosen Kangana ji for this historic role.'

Kangana Ranaut, who is presently busy promoting her upcoming film, 'Tejas,' scheduled for release this Friday, is set to make history with her participation in this cherished tradition. In 'Tejas,' a movie written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, she portrays the role of an Indian Air Force pilot, a testament to her versatility as an actor.
