Behind the Movie Yagam: Gorgeous beauty Bhumika Chawla along with young and charismatic hero Navdeep in the lead supported by hot and sexy Kim Sharma, this ‘Yagam’ has been in the news not only for its peculiar title but also for its director Arun Prasad who delivered hits like ‘Thammudu’ and ‘Goutham SSC.’ Let us see, what was that real purpose behind performing this ‘Yagam’?

In the Movie Yagam:
Santosh (Navdeep) is a DJ who works for a pub in Hyderabad and is in love with beautiful Nandini lovely called as Ammulu (Bhumika Chawla), an air hostess. They are a happy going couple and one fine day Ammulu travels to Bangkok with her team. A sequence of events unfold in Bangkok which are related to a young entrepreneur Sanjay Arya (Rahul Dev), Air Force pilot Antony (Krishna Kumar, a Bollywood actor), Foreign Minister of Thailand and another air hostess Susi resulting in the death of Ammulu.

In the next frame you find Danny (Navdeep) sharing the room with his hot love Sophie (Kim Sharma), as both of them work as bar attendee’s in Bangkok. From now on one by one in the above said list starting from Sanjay Arya are getting killed in Bangkok by Danny and at last he even targets his bed partner Sophie. In parallel an Indian Police Officer in Thailand Buchi Babu (Ajay) and his sub ordinate Chandra Mouli (Harshavardhan) are on a cat and mouse race to catch the killer. Who is Danny and who is Santosh? Are both of them same? Why does he target even Sophie? Did Buchi Babu unfold the case mystery? Everything else form rest of the story.

Values of the Movie Yagam:
Story is simple and straight with no complications involved. Unfortunately to surprise the patrons with some thrill element, Director Arun Prasad has selected most complex way of narration, which has become the main hurdle for entire movie. Neither the characters have got any form of ground nor has the Director’s attempt to elevate the thrill element been achieved, Yagam fails to impress you in either way. If Arun Prasad has missed his regular touch this way, Mani Sharma’s music has lacked the required punch and looked pale even in the songs. Bharani K Dharan’s camera work was visible in lengthy chasing scenes of first half and sensuously trapping the shapes of Kim Sharma. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh was sick in first half and second half he was back on to the regular track. Production values by Downtown Films and Silver Screen Movies are moderate as the required richness was not totally applicable to total movie.

Performance wise, Navdeep looked energetic in fights, romantic in songs and handsome in looks with different hair styles while he was not up to his mark performance in first half. Bhumika’s role was short and her aging look was visible clearly on the screen. She hasn’t looked better besides young Navdeep. Kim Sharma is alone to make your paisa vasool as she sizzles like an Arabian horse in most erotic scenes lying besides hero in the bed act. Villains have never become a part of this movie and they are duds. Ajay as Police Officer showered enough smiles on the audiences faces with his regular comic touch added with Harshavardhan’s good timing. Both of them have given enough relief in second half targeting all major personalities of Tollywood including Pawan Kalyan. Brahmanandam made a small appearance which is unworthy to mention.

Out of the Movie Yagam:
Entire first half, Director will take you on a trip of Bangkok roaming through narrow streets, pubs, markets, high way roads and the illegal drug mafia related activities in this beautiful city. When audience start scratching their heads to know what was really happening on the screen, bang comes the interval already suspense created and the twist half revaled. Entire second half runs on your expected lines and no chance for surprises leading to a regular climax. Instead of concentrating too much on Kim Sharma’s spice factor, if Director had tried to establish the bond between hero and Bhumika, one could have found the product as at least an average. With no such attempt, ‘Raktha Yagam’ by hero was senseless. It was only Kim Sharma’s sexy curves and hot lips mixed with cool comedy punches by Ajay and Harshavardhan which are positive sides of movie remaining else its double negative.
