Behind the Movie Something Something: For ever lover boy Siddharth and gorgeous Hansika Motwani are together in the direction of C. Sundar for this romantic entertainer. With Brahmanandam as major attraction for this Telugu dubbed version of Tamil movie, expectations were low. Let us see, whether this something in this or not?

In the Movie Something Something: Story begins with introduction to sweet family of Kumar (Siddharth), who is working for an IT company. Due to sour romantic experiences in life since childhood, Kumar becomes an apprehensive personality with disinclination feelings towards girls and love. Such a demure guy falls in love at first sight with his newly joined employee Sanjana (Hansika Motwani). Everybody in company inclusive of most handsome Operations Manager George (Ganesh Venkatraman) tries to woo Sanjana.

With an idea from his brother-in-law, Kumar approaches Love Guru Prem Ji aka Sathish (Brahmanandam) in search of new ideas on how to propose Sanjana and also keep her away from George. How hilarious the game runs between Sanjana-Kumar-Prem Ji? How Prem Ji reacts when he knows Sanjana as none other than his Mena Kodalu?

Values of the Movie Something Something: This is a regular rom-com with gleeful treatment. Story wise it’s thinner than a needle head yet director Sundar C made a hillock of fun out of it. Scene by scene, the plot is well executed with wonderful support from artists. No where graph falls down and attention of audience is kept in tact with comical punches. C. Sathya’s music is with a couple of sound tracks picturized well. Gopi Amarnath’s camera work is customary while editing by Praveen-Srikanth was interesting. More than anyone, writer Veligonda Srinivas is distinction holder for this film. His non-stop comical lines kept the humor flowing. Production values of Subramanyam and Lakshmi Ganapathi Films are also satisfactory.

Performance wise, this is again a show of Brahmanandam as Love Guru. He enters late in first half. But, once on…he is unstoppable. Siddharth was in his habituated character struggling to win the love of his girl. One good thing is role of Kumar was profoundly seen rather than Siddharth. His innocence in episodes with Brahmi and romantic sense in track with Hansika were dealt very well. Hansika is bubbly and a beauty to beckon. Looks like, she has cut down some fat and became physique conscious. Ganesh Venkatraman is good while Khushboo, Samanta and Rana’s cameos are well placed. Among others, most of them are Tamil actors and did their best.

Out of the Movie Something Something: For Siddharth, this is definitely a comeback flick in Tollywood compared to his past debacles. In fact, there is nothing in his role but still movie has something to keep the viewers delighted. Tracks written on Brahmi-Sid are best portions of film which are presented newly by Sundar C. Concepts of boy behind girl with problems brewing around and a Love Guru to deal the situations are ages old in Bollywood (from the times of ‘Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa’ of SRK to latest ‘Partner’ of Govinda, Salman Khan) and this is first good attempt in South for which one should thank Sundar C. Irrespective of front benchers or balcony class, there is something for all as comedy portions are farcical sometimes and witty sometimes.

Commercially, ‘Something Something’ cane be safe bet at BO because production cost as seen on screen was low and makers could have already got their share in table profits. For audience who just love to pass on the time with simple rom-coms will enjoy this for sure. There are plenty of funny lines and neat performances from Brahmanandam, Siddharth and Hansika will not disappoint you. For this weekend, this can be a safe one time watch.
