The film is releasing on 29 July 2023 and let us find out whether Slumdog Husband entertained movie lovers.
Slumdog Husband story is about a lower middle-class youngster getting into trouble due to a dog. Lachchi (Sanjay Rao) and Mounika (Pranavi Manukonda) are deep in love and unable to control their feelings. Unable to bear their urge towards each other and after marriage life, the parents of both Lachchi and Mounika decided to get married.
But they get a huge shock when a priest warns about the dangers involved in the horoscopes not getting matched as their date of birth are unknown. As a remedy, he suggests that Lachchi marry a tree or dog. There enters Baby and the consequences Sanjay faces with the entry of Baby form the rest of the story. How Lachchi's friend Santu (Yadamma Raju), advocates Salman Khan (Brahmaji), David Mathew (Sapthagiri) and others are connected should be found on screen.
Sanjay Rao tried his best to showcase the feelings of a lower middle-class youngster. He is good in the role of a frustrated youngster in a hurry to get married and later landing in trouble due to marriage with a dog and then his marriage getting delayed. However, he should concentrate on his looks and body language to reach the next level. He showed good expressions and emotions and dialogue delivery showed the innocence on the screen.
Pranavi Manukonda looked good on screen. She as a traditional girl looked cute and glamorous and came up with good expressions. She showed good feelings as a girl keen to get married to her lover. Yadamma Raju played an important role of Santu and he showed good variations.
There are many other known faces and all tried to entertain movie lovers. Sapthagiri and Brahmaji did their bit with their antics as lawyers while Ali appeared in a cameo. Muralidhar Goud, RK.Mama, Duvvasi Mohan, Venu Polasani, Sharada, Ambati Srinu, and Fish Venkat performed according to their roles.
Slumdog Husband story readied by AR. Sreedhar is a youthful emotional entertainer involving a dog. Sreedhar tried to generate fun with the help of a dog. He started the narration in an interesting and entertaining manner with youthful elements between Sanjay Rao and Pranavi. Later he introduces a dog named Baby and tried to generate fun.
The first half ends in a good way and the second half takes an emotional turn. Dialogues are youthful and at the same time touch hearts at times. Sreedhar with his story tried to highlight human emotions and of animal emotions and tried to differentiate them in a thoughtful way. The entertaining and fun elements are good.
However, Sreedhar's story turned out to be routine and resembled that of the 80s. His screenplay and direction though ok to a point, however, went for a toss. The point looked small and in the second half, the fun went missing. Sreedhar in his bid to entertain Genex movie lovers overdid the hot and adult content throughout the film and this will definitely put off family viewers.
Srinivas Reddy's cinematography is colorful. He showed the slum atmosphere in a natural and realistic manner. Bheems Ceciroleo 's background music is just ok. The first song Lacchi Gani Pelli is foot-tapping and loaded with mass beats. It will be a treat to the masses. The song is well-choreographed. Another song shot on Sanjay Rao and Pranavi with a retro touch is well shot and is good. The editing of Vaishnav Vasu could have been better as there are many repetitive scenes that could have been chopped away. Production values are good.
Altogether Slumdog Husband turns out to be an emotional entertainer. Sreedhar tried to show Brahmaji's son Sanjay in a different way. To some extent, he did well and had a more powerful story, and with a few more entertaining screenplay and diligent direction, the result would have been far better. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 Rating for Slumdog Husband.
