Bommarillu Bhaskar who created a sensation on debut with Bommarillu failed to recreate the same magic on the screen with his next films. After a four years gap, he is coming to entertain viewers with Jack. The film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who is on a high scoring resounding hits with DJ Tillu and Tillu Square. Jack OTT rights are yet to be finalised and deal will be inked at a later date. Let us find out whether Bhaskar's fate changed with Siddhu Jonnalagadda or not with the release of Jack on 10 April 2025 at the box office.
Jack story revolves around a youngster who behaves mysteriously and others are left to wonder the reason behind his acts and what he is up to.
Pablo Neruda aka Jack (Siddhu Jonnalagadda) behaves and acts on a mysterious manner and his father (Prasad) hires a detective Khaja Mia (Brahmaji) to find out his intentions.
Where this leads to and how it is related to Afshan (Vaishnavi Chaitanya),RAW and his chief Manoj (Prakash Raj) form rest of the developments.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda performed his role in his own style. His mannerisms and expressions are a treat to watch. However, one gets a feeling that he is becoming typical and repeating the same which he offered in previous films.
He entertained with his hilarious antics and easy go attitude but he should improve on his emotions.
Vaishnavi Chaitanya got good even presence and she did justice to her role. However, the chemistry between Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya did not sparkle on the screen.
Prakash Raj is ok in his role. He played such roles earlier in his films and the role turned out to be predictable.
Others like Naresh, Brahmaji, Subbaraju, Ravi Prakash, and Rahul Dev performed accordingly.
Jack story is penned by Bommarillu Bhaskar. He tried to entertain viewers coming with a hilarious thriller. His story of hero saving the country becoming a RAW agent is nothing new and he tried to be creative in his own way adding hilarious elements and confusing angle.
He starts the narration talking about RAW and introduces Siddhu in his own style. From then on the investigation, confusing angles and everything turns out to be routine and predictable. There are hilarious scenes and Siddhu Jonnalagadda's mannerisms and flamboyant attitude will attract viewers and his fans.
Much to the disappointment of all, the lead pair's chemistry failed on the screen. Not only the investigation scenes, even the romantic scenes impresses as they lacked the freshness and also the emotions. He should have brought on freshness in the scenes to connect chords with the genx youngsters. Viewers are left to laugh at only those so called silly hilarious scenes. The first half ends with few hilarious sequence at the pre interval before an action block.
The second half shifts to Nepal and excitement is on as the investigation unfolds. Much depended on the film's second part and the screenplay adopted a linear approach , direction followed a predictable note. Right from the start till the end, except for few sequences other scenes are not taken to the next level.
Bommarillu Bhaskar came up with an story that missed the required thrills and he seems to have depended to Siddhu Jonnalagadda's mannerisms and Telangana accent and dialogue delivery. The dialogues has Telangana accent and are ok but could have been better.
The music of Achu Ramani offered nothing new. The songs tuned out to be ordinary much to the disappoint of all. Pablo Neruda song is foottapping and is shot well. His background score is ok but could have increased the intensity levels.
Navin Nooli's editing could have been far better. There are many drags in the film which slowed the pace of the narration especially in the second half. Vijay K. Chakravarty’s Cinematography is in sync with the storyline. Production values of SVCC are decent.
Altogether, Jack turns out to be the hilarious action entertainer. Director Bommarillu Bhaskar came up with a tried and tested story and planned to take it to the next level using Siddhu Jonnalagadda's swag. But he forgot that solely depending on Siddhu Jonnalagadda's style will not guarantee as success. He should have added few interesting twists and turns along with entertaining elements.
He seems to have lost his touch with the genex viewers and came up with the routine and monotonous story with no real highs. Siddhu Jonnalagadda also came up with similar expressions and displayed the same body language. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for Jack.
